How Spray Foam Insulation Lancaster Works

Spray Foam Insulation Lancaster insulates and air seals homes, farm buildings and shops in Lancaster city and across Lancaster County. We spray open-cell and closed-cell foam, blow in cellulose and fiberglass, dense-pack closed walls, and take out old insulation that is wet, soiled or flattened.

We start with a visit. We go into the attic and the basement, look at the walls, and walk through any barn, shop or garage you want insulated. We measure what is there and judge its condition. We look for the leaks that cost the most in a Lancaster County winter: the rim joist on top of the foundation, attic bypasses around chimneys, plumbing and wiring, and the hatch. We also flag things insulation should never cover: roof leaks, wet wood, live knob-and-tube wiring, and loose vermiculite.

Then we write it up. Spray foam is not right for every surface. Over a wide attic floor, sealing the gaps and blowing loose fill is usually cheaper. On rim joists, foundation walls, steel buildings and roof decks, foam is often the right tool. When two methods would both work, the quote shows both.

How we work

  • See it first. No phone quotes for work we have not looked at.
  • Itemize. Every area on the quote lists its material, depth or thickness, target R-value and price.
  • Seal before insulating. Leaks get closed before anything covers them.
  • Protect the house. Floors and belongings are covered and the spray area is closed off.
  • Tell you the re-entry time. You know ahead of time how long to stay out.
  • Agree changes in writing. Work starts after you approve the quote.
